In Mindo, my friends and I were able to participate in a few local activities such as tubing and going to a butterfly house. Here are some photos from our trip:

We definitely got our money’s worth! Mindo isn’t at sea level, but it’s at a much lower altitude than Quito, which means that it’s warmer and easier to breathe in Mindo; however, it also means that there are more bugs. My friends and I were attacked by thousands of sand flies. I don’t think my legs will ever be the same!
I definitely plan to return to Mindo someday! We stayed in a fantastic hostel called La Casa de Cecilia, and the people there were kind and welcoming.
